How It Works
SHARDANA Bikeventure is an unsupported bikepacking event. This means every rider is fully responsible for completing the route using their own skills, equipment and resources.
There are no support vehicles, no luggage transport and no outside assistance. Participants ride at their own pace, navigating through Sardinia using the official route provided by the organization.
The challenge is not only physical. It is about planning, decision-making, resilience and the ability to adapt to changing conditions while exploring one of the most beautiful islands in the Mediterranean.
Whether you ride for adventure, discovery or personal achievement, SHARDANA is designed to offer an authentic bikepacking experience where the journey matters as much as the destination.
The Routes
For the 2027 edition, SHARDANA Bikeventure introduces an exciting new chapter in its history.
Alongside the classic route, which follows the wild western side of Sardinia before heading north through the island's heartland, riders will now have the opportunity to choose a completely new adventure.
The new eastern route explores a different side of Sardinia, descending along the island's eastern territories before turning inland and reconnecting with the western route in the south. From there, both routes share the final part of the journey back towards Olbia, creating a common experience that unites all participants.
Starting from 2027, the two routes will carry names inspired by the identity and heritage of Sardinia.
The Giants Route follows the western side of the island through ancient landscapes, archaeological treasures and some of Sardinia's most untamed territories.
The Centenarians Route explores the eastern side of the island, crossing the lands famous for their exceptional longevity, authentic traditions and deep connection between people and place.
